Part 2 | My Own Creation

The Dream Merchant

Sell me some dreams on the bargain down where the sand flows fast and slow.
Toss some dust into the cool night air and watch it flower and float down.
Please sell me some dreams for quick and cheap.
I haven't dreamt in ages…I only wish to rest my eyes for a while.
“I'm tired, so tired, please sell me some dreams,”
            the dream merchant cries.
“My bag is full of dreams but none for me.
I'll bless your soul with beauty and light.
My coins are gilded clouds and soft and gentle lullabies.
Won't you take heart on a weary soul?
My voice is sweet nectar and calming water.
I'll be silent forever if you sell me some dreams.
Let me give you rest and let me sleep the sleep of countless dreams,”
            the dream merchant cries.
            “Please,
            sell me some dreams.
I wish only that you sleep peacefully,
            so I might die…”
